In commemoration of the first year anniversary of the renovation of the breast feeding area of the Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital, its founders and people behind its remarkable success gathered for a Day Tour and Recognition Program led by Springboard Foundation and Give a life Charity Foundation last November 19, 2008. The event was attended by Ms. Melanie Ilisan, Officer-in-Charge of Give A Life (GAL) Charity Foundation, Ms. Annette Helbig, President of Springboard Foundation, Dr. Roben Flores, Medical Director of Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital, Dr. Jeffrey Leonardo, Officer-in-Charge of CMPS, Dr. Mellisa Juico, Chairman of NICU, Ms. Dorotea Baltazar, NICU’s Area Manager, and Ms. Solita Garcia, NICU’s supervising nurse. In could be remembered that NICU’s renovation was completed on October 17, 2008 and it became fully operational on November 2008. NICU was renovated through the concerted efforts of Springboard Foundation, headed by Ms. Annette Helbig and Give a Life Charity Foundation, in coordination with the doctors of Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital. Presently, NICU serves all newborn babies admitted in the hospital keeping them safe and free from newborn diseases and infections.
